  • September 16, 2006. Radioactivity is a weekly roundup of the best radio shows, podcasts and downloadable sets online. This week Audiofly, Dominik Eulberg and a Detroit weekender... *** Jonson & Jonson: BBC Radio 1 has a pair of live sets from Mathew Jonson and Hrdvsion on Mary Anne Hobbs show this week. Hrdvsion is in reality Mathew’s brother Nathan, and both the Wagon Repair bros put in short live sets that, well, blow us away. Mary Anne’s voice might give you the willies, but fast forward to Mathew’s set at 01:37.00 and Hrdvision’s at around 02:38.00 for the business. Wouldn’t Mum be proud? Raum at Raum: Dorian Paic is the label head of Raum...Musik, home to early releases by D.Diggler and Dominik Eulberg to name a few. Once a month he makes the trip from Berlin to Barcelona to play at the Thursday club night Raum (no relation). It seems there are some advantages to being a label owner because Dorian's record bag is always packed with the latest white labels and unsigned goodies. Dorian's July set is now online at PlayFM. There's also a DJ set by Dumb Unit's Sweet'N Candy who spun a great live set on the same night. We should know. We were there! Detroit state of mind: This weekend livesets.com turns into Detroit radio with a three-day tribute to the birthplace of techno. Tune in for sets old and new, rare and popular from Detroit artists such as Jeff Mills, DJ Bone, Mike Grant, Kenny Larkin, Juan Atkins, Robert Hood, Rolando, Carl Craig and Stacey Pullen to name a few. The sets run until Sunday evening GMT. Fly guys: London's Audiofly are studio workhorses who always find time to update their website with new mixes. Although they were first spotted by some big progressive names, the duo bridge the minimal/prog divide – check out their recent productions on Mobilee as Sleeper Thief with Miss Jools and on Maschine Records as Rekleiner with Mulletover's Stuart Geddes. Coming soon is an Audiofly release on Get Physical plus their first compilation 'Undulation II' on Satoshi Tomiie's Saw Recordings, but in the meantime, check out their latest mix, which is spun under their deeper, more futuristic DJ doppelganger Audiofly X. Pay attention early as the mix kicks off on 'Loose Lips' their great new collaboration with RA podcast cutie Scarlett Etienne. No matter weather: Melbourne DJ and RA writer Peter Chambers weighs in with a mix of deep Cologne love, turning us onto AM/PM and gently reminding us to reconsider unsung Superpitcher trax in the process. Titled ‘36 Degrees Celsius (Possible Thunderstorm)’, this one goes well at any temperature, though it’s best kept for those lazy Sunday afternoons back from the club at home. And we don’t recommend it just because it’s Peter – this one is lush. Tracklist in forum. So long Ibiza: Heading to the closing parties in Ibiza and want to get in the party mood before you arrive? The Audio & Video section of The End's website has a ravey hands-in-the-air set by Dominik Eulberg when he played Cocoon at Amnesia in July. From Dominik's own remix of Shane Berry's 'Filtertet' to the deep techno of DJ Yellow's 'Aliennation 4', this one is party from start to finish. Regulars to The End will also want to check out recent sets recorded at the club by its owners Mr.C and Layo & Bushwacka! *** There you have it. If you have any links to fantastic music which you want to share with the world, post them in the forum or send 'em along to [email protected] with the subject line 'Radioactivity'. *** Radioactivity - delivered to your door with the milk every Saturday morning GMT.
