Martinez blends parts and pieces from the Out of Orbit back catalogue on the debut label mix from the Copenhagen output. ‘Restructured Layers’ will be released early December.
Out of Orbit Recordings is the brainchild of label boss Martin Swanstein, aka Martinez. Early champions of Trentemoller, the label sound veers between proggy techno and electrohouse, with mainstay Martinez releasing his own productions, old hands like Robert Babicz as well as championing lesser known Danish upstarts.
Debut label mix ‘Restructured Layers’ sees Martinez take to the decks to “megamix” the back catalogue, pitched halfway between a sweaty club experience and a home listening session. Like the title suggests, ‘Restructured Layers’ promises loops and pieces blended together Hawtin style – up to eight tracks at once melding together across a 76-minute running time. The tracklist numbers just seventeen cuts, but look in the fineprint and you’ll spy the proviso “+ many more’.
