  • Second album from London techno punks Motor promises to develop their sound beyond the “continued metallic pummel” of last year’s debut. It’s even billed as having warmth, melodies and vocals. Just in time for Mother’s Day then. Aside from releasing EBM/electro/techno albums, Motor are also a live act with a mission. “People have this tame image of live electronic music and we go out there and smash things up and spit in your face,” says Bryan Black, who used to be a placid sound engineer at Prince’s Paisley Park studios back in the day. Last’s year’s debut LP ‘Klunk’ spawned the single ‘Sweatbox’, which was rotated by the likes of Dave Clarke, Miss Kittin, Sven Vath and Alter Ego. They’ve also remixed Throbbing Gristle, Nitzer Ebb, Marilyn Manson and Depeche Mode. They've even covered Cypress Hill’s ‘Insane In the Brain’ with electro wildcat T.Raumschmiere on vocals, which should clue you into their sound. Here’s the epilepsy-inducing first single from the album, ‘Bleep #1’. ‘Unhuman’ tracklist 1. Bleep #1 2. Unhuman 3. Drunk Punk 4. 20 Volts Of Steel 5. Night Drive 6. Téte En Plastique 7. Don’t Stop *us bonus track 8. Flashback 9. Re-format 10. AC 775 11. Sikk ‘Unhuman’ by Motor is out now on Novamute in Europe, and arrives in America on May 22nd, 2007.
