  • Richie Hawtin, James Holden and Modeselektor are the latest additions to this year's Sónar festival in Barcelona. Hawtin will play Sónar by Night joined for the first time by Ali Demirel on visuals. Other names added to the night program include Bpitch Control's eclectic DJ pair Modeselektor, Japanese erotic cabaret group Romantica and Puerta Rican reggaeton band Calle 13. Madrid's minimal techno ambassadors Damian Schwartz and Tadeo will also square off in a back-to-back set. Latest Sónar by Day additions include James Holden, who according to the press notes will spin a special set different from his usual sound. Einstürzende Neubauten vocalist Blixa Bargeld will also perform with Chinese avant-garde electronic group FM, inventors of the Buddha Machine. Elsewhere there's experimental hip hop from Infinite Livez vs. Stade and kitsch pop from Hey Willpower. New label showcases include a Minus bill with JPLS and Tractile as well as one from Rush Hour Records with Hearin Aid and Jay Scarlett & Cinnaman. Setsubun Beat Unit, Mica & the Cluster and The Invisible from Matthew Herbert's Accidental imprint also get to strut their stuff. Check RA Events for the full lineup so far. And keep your eyes on RA for further Sónar details as they emerge. The Sónar Festival takes place in Barcelona on June 14, 15 and 16, 2007.
