It's official. Daft Punk aka Thomas Bangalter and Guy Manuel are coming to Australia.
Since performing their first live show in ten years at Coachella 2006, the masked robot duo have plugged in their gobsmacking light show everywhere from Colorado to Berlin. Following the announcement earlier this week of a new live album 'Alive 2007' to be released in November, it's now Australia's turn to get the Daft Punk experience.
The Never Ever Land tour will hit Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and then Sydney stopping off at some of the country's largest venues. Support acts include Ed Banger's SebastiAn and Kavinsky as well as Modular acts The Presets, Muscles and The Bang Gang Deejays. Has there ever been this much electro squiggle in one place?
The first release of tickets will include a special Aussie tour edition of the Daft Punk anthology 'Musique Vol. 1 1993-2005' in case you need to brush up on their daft lyrics. Tickets go on sale September 13, 2007. Check RA events for further ticketing and line-up details.
