  • Berlin stable Sonar Kollektiv celebrates ten years in the biz with a London bash this Friday. Sonar Kollektiv was founded in 1997 by Jazzanova, a six-piece collective of musicians, DJs, graphic designers and artists. The label weathered the downtempo wars of recent years better than most; these days the label has a fresh, varied roster releasing everything from dub and reggae to folk, jazz and techno. They're also highly rated for their compilations - check their tenth anniversary compilation 'Ten Years, Who Cares?' for the latest evidence. For their London birthday bash, Jazzanova will be joined by Christian Prommer aka Drum Lesson, best known for his jazzy takes on classics such as Isolee's 'Beau Mot Plage' and Derrick May's 'Strings of Life', as well as Peter Kruder from Kruder & Dorfmeister in a rare London appearance.
