  • German label !K7 throws a 22nd birthday bash at The Key in London later this month. Like a typical twentysomething, the Berlin-based imprint is stringing out its celebrations for as long as possible, having already thrown a hometown party at the Popkomm music expo in September where the likes of Ewan Pearson, Joakim and !K7 veteran Michael Fakesch helped kick off the anniversary in style. For the London celebrations, Fakesch represents Germany as the only continental on an otherwise all-British line-up, getting deep with tech house legends Swayzak in the second room of The Key. In the main arena, headliners Playgroup, Hot Chip and Four Tet will dust off personal favourites and guilty pleasures for sets inspired by their compilations in the DJ-Kicks series put out by !K7. The third room is hosted by London institution Phonica Records, with the specialist store’s own Simon Rigg, Anthony Hill of their affiliate magazine FACT and Ben, one half of local blog-rockers Skull Juice, behind the decks.
