The Mobilee boss shares her passion.
Anja Schneider has been at the helm of Mobilee for a decade now. The Berlin label has racked up more than 100 releases and launched the careers of producers like Sebo K, Exercise One and Pan-Pot, but its anniversary celebrations have been notably low-key. As she mentions in this interview, she's not one to place undue importance on numbers. But Mobilee is also just one side of Schneider's multifaceted career. The label grew out of her long-running radio show Dance Under The Blue Moon, where her curatorial talents and true enthusiasm dance music really shine. And the seeds of that grew out of Berlin's '90s techno culture, which she experienced first-hand in clubs like the original Tresor. She lived for the weekend in those days, she says, and they ended up becoming her life. Schneider relayed all of this to Jordan Rothlein in Berlin recently, on the eve of Mobilee's return to the Hotel Diagonal in Barcelona for their latest season of rooftop parties.
