From eyeliner to parachute pants to techno: The Clink and Manmade Mastering boss tells his story.
You may have never heard Tim Xavier's music, but you've likely heard music he's mastered. Via his Manmade Mastering studio, Xavier has a hand in hundreds of house and techno records each year. It's experience that has served him well in his own productions: Of late Xavier has largely released music via Clink, the imprint that he shares with his girlfriend Camea, and his own LTD400 label. As RA's Will Lynch found out late last month, though, Xavier's history runs deep in American techno through stints in Chicago and New York. Now residing in Berlin, they caught up to talk about Xavier's work in and out of the limelight.
