Berlin's deep house maestro comes clean.
As one of your top ten DJs two years running, you're probably familiar with Innervisions' Dixon. One of the few jocks to make his name largely upon DJing alone, Dixon has come to worldwide prominence alongside house music's resurgence. This is no coincidence: Long a house DJ in a techno city, the Berlin resident has pushed a distinct sound that is heavy on vocals, emotion and variety. Like any great DJ, you always know him when you hear him. The same goes for his next (and final) CD, which comes out this week on Live at Robert Johnson. (He waits more than 20 minutes before unleashing a kick drum.) We caught up with Dixon in Berlin last month to talk about East German doping, his DJ mentors and what comes next for Innervisions.
