About

  • Groovadelica started off during the 1990s as labour of love. To put it simply, it was one musically obsessive geek in a south London flat with an great record collection and a small studio. By 1998, in the midst of Londons love affair with UK Garage, Drum & Bass, Nu Jazz & Indian influenced beats, a production company started to blossom, creating remixes and productions for record companies both large and small. Working on many tracks that created waves on the underground and also songs that made it into the U.K. National top 40. It became an urban eclectic beat factory. It stood out due to the variety of musical styles it dabbled in, and also its focus on working with great vocalists (credits include remixes for Mos Def, Whitney Houston, Linden David Hall amongst others.) As the company developed, and its owner, Jason Eli, moved to New Zealand. The record label is now exposing talent from a very fertile ground for new music; New Zealand/ Aotearoa.. We have a small but growing a roster of musicians, singers and producers. New releases are on the way. Groovadelica is turning into a place where new musical talent can join forces, both locally and globally, to create something fresh.
