aufnahme + wiedergabe was established in 2011 by Philipp Strobel in Berlin, Germany. Gabriel Brero joined the label in the same year, followed by Julia Meusel in 2013. In 2016 label manager Chloé Lula joined aufnahme + wiedergabe and the label built its own booking department taken care of by Alessandra Dalla Palma.
