Fondly known for its darker, more techno driven vibe, the ‘Steyoyoke Black’ sublabel has become a strong element and asset to the entire ‘Steyoyoke Recordings’ imprint. Now venturing into its second year, ‘Steyoyoke Black’ continues to focus on releasing tracks with a bolder, more sinister sound. With the much welcomed return of techno to the electronic scene, the label marches forth distinguishing its strengths and unique ability to push the industry and its artists in new directions.
One of the signature qualities of the mother label, is the importance of balancing both art and music, a quality in which ‘Steyoyoke Black’ will also uphold. The cover art is another dimension of expression, displayed clearly through a format of distinguished black and white illustrations.
The ‘Steyoyoke Black’ roster features artists such as Nick Devon, Dahu, Erly Tepshi, Soul Button, Clawz SG, as well drawing new talent from Arude, Camille Luciani, Lost Soul, and Never Lost. The label extends itself to both digital and limited edition vinyls this year, so expect plenty of quality EP’s and exclusive releases from the ‘Steyoyoke Black’ family in 2019.
