Luke Chable - Eat Static / After The Storm

  • Not much really needs to be said about Luke Chable. He is arguably one of the finest producers in Australia and his work continues to amaze. Featured here in this release are two productions that you may have heard already. Eat Static featured on Nick Warren's Renaissance mix a little while back, while After The Storm was a highlight of Phil K's latest mix release. On the A-Side is ’Eat Static’. Although the track was made a good 2 years before release, it still sounds fresh to this very day. It opens up with a nice instrumental intro with rolling drums before a nice heavy kick enters the fray. The array of Chable’s effects float all around the track giving it a nice atmospheric aura, as does the nice subtle baseline that enters midway into the track, giving it a nicer groove all-round. The track really takes off towards the end as all the elements join well, and it's quite clear to see that Luke, even from his early productions such as this, is really quite talented. On the flip is the stunning ’After The Storm’, the track which featured on Phil K’s Balance Mix, and one of the highlight breakbeat releases of this year. The broken beats begin proceedings shortly before the soothe floating vocals make a presence. A cute little melody then works its way around the arrangement as does the deep base that fills the background space. A breakdown midway in sees a nice arpeggiatued melody take control which then caresses the beats further in, as the track hits its stunning heights. Brilliant production. A must pirchase really as your getting two quality productions on the one slab of vinyl.
