- Next up on the classic Twisted label is a new talent to the scene by the name of Geoff Gaines. He delivers two beautifully constructed cuts to the label that are sure to please many.
On the a-side is ’Sonik’. The track begins with some nice unique drums at a smooth tempo. There are some solid tribal elements combined with a nice deep baseline that gives it a nice flow. A breakdown midway into the track introduces some fresh electro sounds into the production. The baseline also takes a nice direction deep into the track. Solid work by the new force on twisted.
On the flip is ’Sonik Dreamz’. This production has a similar beat pattern, however, it introduces some new elements. Firstly an effected piano line really adds some substance to the production. Some quirky effects occur midway into the production, then it’s followed by driving piano rolls that take this track to a fantastic deep playing field. Definitely the better productions of the two!
Got to love the b-side of this release. Sonik Dreamz is definitely one to look out for. It was a tough ask for Geoff, that is, to make an impact on a label with plenty of quality in its history, but I think he has just done that. Check it out.
