- This track has received plenty of hype in the preceding months before it's release with reported support from the likes of Dave Seaman and a few massive reviews doing the rounds. Unfortunately, most of this hype has simply had the effect of stirring up a flurry of anticipation over a track that is, at best, another bland reworking of a Top-40 hit from the 80's.
The track opens with a long into of tribal drums layered over an ever-increasing bass beat. Over the top of this lead-in, sits a nicely twisted vocal sample that is used to great effect. It is here that the track holds great promise.
Then, creating a sudden change, in drops the 'massive bassline' and the tribal drums and vocal effects continue until the short break down where the Kate Bush sample fully kicks in. Along the way we are treated to a few twists where the bassline is manoeuvred through a key change or two and the volume of the vocal sample rattles on and on. Finally, when everything comes to a sudden end, we are back where we started from with the intro drums and effects fading out to a basic bass beat.
In short, Infusion have produced much, much better work. The changes to the track are too sharp and there a few ideas at play here - something rarely found from anything recently produced by Infusion.
I'm sure not everyone will agree with me here, but if you bought this bootleg as a one-sided piece of vinyl then it is best left stuck in the back of the record bag for those occasions when the over-forties hit the dance floor. And if that isn’t bad enough, there are some copies floating around with a booted-up version of Lionel Ritchie's 'All night long' on the flip.
