Circulation - Colours 2

  • When Circulation first album first hit the stores in 2000, it received praise from almost all media. It was a breath of fresh air, providing smooth house with melodies and dancefloor moments that were enjoyed by many. Colours 2 has now hit stores, and it provides a collection of great productions that the lads conjured up after the first successful album all those years ago. The album begins smoothly with the delicate Sunday afternoon style cut, “Terracotta”. The brilliant “Chocolate” provides an early stunning highlight to the album, a track that got the proper canning from many big DJ’s worldwide. “Neutral” is just as good, with a smooth baseline and a echoed and effected vocal to boot. “Khaki” showcases a quirkier side to the Circulation production machine while “Neon” digs deep into the layer of sounds. A toned down “Chocolate” makes an appearance, and it is quite simply a stunning piece of music, making great use of a slow and deep baseline under a trickling looped synth. “Cherry” takes the album into funky town while “Taupe” showcases the acoustic wizardry of the Circulation lads. A deep club friendly number follows in “Emerald” while “White” is well suited to the floors with its funky edge and uplifting façade. The smooth flowing strings and soothing effects of “Sepia” conclude the album in true bliss. With this album Circulation have hit the spot yet again. While it may not be as momentous as their debut album, it once again showcases the diverse range of talents these lads have, and demonstrates their ability to keep things interesting and different from the first to the last track. Another solid outing from Circulation, an outing that is sure not to disappoint fans. Tracklisting: 1. Terracotta 2. Chocolate 3. Neutral 4. Khaki 5. Neon 6. Chocolate 7. Vanilla 8. Topaz 9.
