Player begins with some furious drums and a deep rumbling baselines. Some quirky synthy effects take control as the ‘I Love You’ vocals ride the top of the production. The track builds with the drums gaining intensity and the effects also gaining in presence. This track is clearly designed for the dancefloor as it builds and builds to great effect.
Also on the a-side is firstly the Playapella 1. This tool features the vocal with the twisted synthy effects in the background. Secondly, the Playapella 2 is a tool that features the vocals on its own.
On the flip is Push Em Up. This is a nice quirky record that features some broken beats and a deep but subtle baseline doing some damage. The drums are the highlight here with the acoustic effects popping up here and there as well as an effected and echoing vocal helping proceedings. A unique and welcome production this, really showcasing the production talents of Steve Angello.
Player is the production that should turn heads on this release. It has a great funky edge to it, and if that sound like your cup of tea then this release should satisfy your needs.
