Boston native "Sumantri" returns under his new moniker "Optika", to give us the epic "Cycloptic Vision",
the first release on Opek music. The original is a bass driven journey which starts with a chunky tribal rhythm and a heavy, rolling bassline. Eerie pads float around the room and a soft melody is teased out of the solid percussion. Tight synth stabs flicker in and out all to the thump of that beat. The breakdown introduces atmospheric sweeps and a filtered synth melody. Tight percussion brings the track up, and then the bass drops! Deep synths slide in and out of the track, as filtered hits move the track along. The 2nd breakdown introduces piano keys and emotional pads. All elements combine well to take the track out.
Deeper Mix
The deeper mix has a completely different feel to the original. A deep bassline fuses with tight chords while still having tribal overtones. Holy pads are countered by dirty percussion as a beautiful synth melody is introduced. The deep bass returns as atmospheric pads and piano lines take the track out.
