Adam K - Polar II

  • Following up to Oliver Hacke's 'Polar I' release, Adam K takes on the second Polar series Ep release for Traum Schallplatten. Hailing from Poland, (now living in Cologne, Germany) Adam is a drummer who plays for various pop & electronic bands; making his first deput for Traum and the second series 'Polar II' does not disappoint at all. 'Kartenspiel' is a bass heavy driving minimal track. The progression of the track builds with successive introduction of micro metallic bits complimented by the sharp piercing snares. Streams of distorted vocals echoed through the track as it lures you on a deep, haunting, hypnotic journey in the mist of the well programmed clicky madness. 'Sporen', too, is driving. And the funk in undeniably infectious. Equipped with echos of wailing sirens, the track is also bombarded with a cluster of various sounds; bits of elements constantly being introduced along the way, truely making it difficult for any listener not to pay attention to its minute details. The track also takes on different directions with sudden twists and turns, fired with variations of micro echos, pans & effects, this is without a doubt, an exceptional track. Both sides of this release are outstanding. Highly recommended. Put Adam K on your lookout list.
