Working alongside Mark Barrott from International Feel, a current guardian of the Balearic sound that Padilla pioneered, "Solito" is washed in Middle Eastern vibes and peppered lightly with congas and trippy flutes, a sinuous acidic bassline wrapping around its belly. Bubble Club's "In Loving Memory Mix" picks up the pace a smidge with mild kicks, grand prog rock chords and spacey percussion.
German artist Wolf Müller isn't particularly prolific, but as his Balztanz EP showed this year, he has the chops to produce epic music. His two remixes, released on a separate 12-inch, aren't dramatically different. The "Water Mix" is much more in step with the Balearic tendencies of Padilla's original, with its soft, underlying hum and twinkling synths, while the "Water Dance" mix cranks up the wiry live bass and percussive elements.
