Dirty Bass - Leviathon / Sammael

  • For the 2nd release on Dirty Bass Records, label managers Dirty Bass definitely haven’t rested on their laurels with the success of the first release by any stretch of the imagination. 2 more solid productions are the way here, with a tough techno stormer on the a-side and a moody techy cut on the b-side. Leviathon is on the a-side and the track flows at a pretty decent pace for the first few minutes with a deep base and pounding hats. A subtle vocal loop makes its way into the production which works very well and gives it a great flow until the breakdown where the vocal gets isolated alongside some twisted sound effects. The track comes back in truly evil style with an absolutely devastating baseline (major reason they are called Dirty Bass!) that takes the track out in peak time dark dirty techno style. Evil stuff! Sammael on the flip is a fantastic tough tech house cut. The track builds with some greatly produced drum work as swirling effects tease early on, until a deep baseline makes its way into the formation of the track. A whispering vocal haunts the track as it flows brilliantly into the breakdown, which consists of swirls of sound and tingling drums, only for a moment though as the track yet again hits its peak after the break in devastating style. Another hot release for Dirty Bass that will impress those who loved the debut release on the label. Dirty filthy, but addictive, techno.
