- Next up on the Mantra Beaks imprint is a two track EP from the BreakLegend, also known as Enrico Ferrari who is making his first Breaks release. Enrico is also Undo/Redo, of which he has released some classic house records in the last year or so under this guise.
His first attempt is Lychees, and it’s a nice and funky breakbeat affair. The beats are quite stuttered, but it is the funky electro vibes, in the same vein as Trisco’s ‘Muzak’ that keeps this production rolling along smoothly. There are nice stops and starts in this track, as well as quirky sounds and vocal echoes that keep this production unique throughout.
This Is The City on the flip sheds a bit of a hip hop vibe with dubby break beat drums. There is a nice baseline that keeps chugging without every going over the top and the first half of the track is very smooth and bouncy. The track midway in introduces a gritty electro edge, and it gives a new direction to this very lively production.
I must say that Enrico Ferrari continues to impress. His work under his Undo/Redo guise is absolute top class, and it is safe to say that his work under the BreakLegend look as though it will be just as good. Quality breakbeat here, which is just what the doctor ordered.
