- Kapvt Mvndi is a sub-label of Blackwater Label, an imprint focused on techno and vinyl. The label works from a manifesto of sorts. "Post techno" is their mantra, used to encapsulate the label's wide stylistic interests, while themes of war and religion have been used to focus the four EPs released so far. Their last record, Svprasensible Destination, a compilation, best showcased the Kapvt Mvndi crew's range: there was Millsian techno, deep, dreamy house and droning ambient noise. It was predominantly a showcase for new producers (with the odd veteran in the mix). Emanuele Rizzuto was one of them, whose "004" bolstered the experimental end of the comp. Hand Made Illusions is his full Kapvt Mvndi debut, a pair of trippy techno tracks.
"Zero Zero Due" is an angsty synth workout that sits comfortably next to the Stranger Things soundtrack. A sound like breathing over static begins the track, before the bassline kicks in. Atmospheric, dark and feverish, it's a great sci-fi-style piece of electronica. "Monotron" is more mindful of the club, in an acid freak out kind of way. It's still very synth-y and space-themed, but you can imagine a daring DJ giving this a go. It would certainly melt a few faces.
