First up is Sexxy Freeeaky (Afro Stunning Dub), and it begins quite intriguingly enough with a collection of sounds and effects. Soon enough the beats come roaring in into the production. As the vocal wails the word ‘Sexxxy’, the beats roll frantically with a smooth baseline giving the track a great groove. A subtle guitar riff also gives the track quite a funky vibe as do some cheeky saxophone interludes late in the track.
On the flip is Sexxxy Sexxxy (Crumby Cyrcle Tek), and it is a lot darker and quirkier in relation to the a-side. The beats are quite intense, and noticeably a lot more darker and minimal. The baseline drones away quite subtle in the background, and the saxophone interludes midway in are quite eerie compared to the funky vibes of the Dub mix.
Not a bad release at all by Mantra, with the Dub mix on the a-side probably more likely to appeal.
