Pole Folder feat. Sandra Ferretti – Protected

  • One of the finest Progressive producers to come out of Belgium and indeed Europe, returns with this release on Italian based Mo-Do Records. Pole Folder, the man who made such a big impact with releases on Bedrock especially, gets set to release his first solo single for quite some time. And he is aided by the soothing vocals of Sandra Ferretti who makes Protected the deep and moody production that it is. This first disc features the smooth Original mix as well as a cutting edge remix from Madoka on the flip. The Original Mix though is first up, and it is what you have come to expect from Pole Folder. Very smooth from the first to the last beat, the track features some nice crisp drum patterns that build the track up smoothly, accompanied very helpfully with some very lovely string patterns. Sandra’s vocals soon take over and uniquely calm the beats and atmosphere, creating quite a lush mood for the first half of the track. As the track heads into its conclusion, another set of strings enter as well as a simple melody that adds a brilliant touch, and compliments the mood that was set throughout. The beats intensify as the Madoka Remix on the flip looks to up the pace in this release. The beats are nice and well structured, and the baselines are very smooth early on in the piece. The vocals play a smooth role in the first few moments, until they are soloed in the first breakdown, and then built up quite nicely introducing a pretty epic melody that flows effortlessly with the beats. Pretty melodic stuff here by Madoka that works quite well with the smooth subtle baselines. A pretty strong release here by Pole Folder and another fine production work by Madoka on the flip to make this first disc a success, yet again, for the Italian based Mo-Do.
