Jean Michel Jarre - Aerology

  • It’s a good thirty years or so since Oxygene, the Jean Michel Jarre album that had such a lasting influence on electronic music, and dance music in particular. Aerology is a definite throwback to that time, a collection of textures with a theremin-like melody that soars like a bird over a well judged four to the floor beat. Jarre is currently touting a 3d ‘Aero’ sound, which means if you listen to this on a home cinema system it constantly shifts around the sound picture. He may not have the influential power of old, but Jean Michel Jarre is still innovating to some extent, and for that he deserves some plaudits.
