Psychedelia for big rooms from John Talabot and Axel Boman.
Their recent material seems tailored towards the big rooms where they get booked to DJ. "Discodrums" lumbers along at just over 110 BPM. The chugging bass line is pure Talabot, giving both producers a rock-solid foundation to explore the psychedelic scope of their analog synths. The 11-minute track uses subtle LFO modulation and glide to achieve a head trip on the level of Locussolus's "Berghain (Darkroom Mix)." Meanwhile, the B-side, "Flashforward," sounds like what would happen if a dubby post-punk band recalibrated its sound for Room One. Massive stuff.
