  • DMX Krew is one of dance music's most unanimously loved artists. Feel-good and funky, his style of electro well established yet still persuades new label owners to sign tracks from his bottomless vault of electro bangers. (In 2018, he released around 20 tunes.) The latest of those fledging label owners is Peggy Gou, who will release four DMX Krew tracks for the second release on her Gudu Records outlet. By the sound of her breakout record, 2018's Once, Guo has been a fan of DMX Krew for a while: the boogie bassline on that EP's "Han Jan" could've come from that same vault. "CJ Vibe," the A1 track from the forthcoming Don't You Wanna Play?, is dreamier than DMX Krew's more bass-focussed records, swapping heads-down fun for hands-in-the-air euphoria. The lead synth hums like a lost rave classic—the track's title likely pays tribute to CJ Bolland—occasionally offset by dreamy blasts of pad. Buried in a catalogue of low-key tunes, Gou has managed to find a DMX Krew track suitable for the massive rooms she plays.
