- The French producer La Fraicheur is a woman on a mission. To help her cause, she's created merch that includes T-shirts captioned "Burning The Patriarchy With Acid (Techno)." Her latest project, however, a collaboration with fellow French producer Léonard de Léonard, is inclusive.
Léonard de Léonard and La Fraicheur will debut a live show this month. The EP features two tracks from that performance, "Sang Chaud" and "Sang Froid," plus five remixes highlighting emerging European producers of both sexes. The original tracks are strong and, as indicated by their names, run both red-hot (the militant acid techno of "Sang Chaud") and cooler (the more nonchalant, almost housey "Sang Froid"). Ranging from functional to knockout, the rest of the EP is a grab bag of moods and styles for techno DJs. The originals offer a tasty preview of the live show, while the remixes reveal La Fraicheur's keen eye for new talent.
