- Known for his hardware-only live sets, Chino is a resident at Unsound festival and a key player in the Kraków scene. Together with Olivia, a fellow Unsound resident, Chino cofounded Radar, a club that had a brief but important life. (It lives on as a party called We Are Radar.) With the help of Kinzo Chrome, a local DJ, they've been putting on some of the best parties in Poland for seven years.
Chino's new release, which draws on acid techno, electro and EBM, feels darker and weightier than previous works. The title, The Cave, could describe a small room in a dark basement (my preferred type of club), which is exactly what Szpitalna 1, a former regular venue for We Are Radar, is like. "Fearamid" is relentless and locks in with energetic beats and acid tickles. "Loch" is a hypnotic standout, at times turning itself inside out. Blending solid rhythms and metallic squeals with electrifying melodies and warm grooves, The Cave's five tracks are potential club anthems.
