Mutant, twisted electronics that grind like stone on sandpaper.
One comparison to Skinned could be Low Jack's dancehall fusions, but Steel's music is rougher, with drum that sound like stones on sandpaper. But the swing makes the music feel inviting despite its serrated edges, like on "Untitled 1." It also makes it hit even harder, like on the closing track, where snare drums land in rapid jabs like the punch of a veteran boxer. Best of all is "Untitled 2," a hellish miasma of redlined percussion and abstract noise, with a drum beat that slows to a crawl at the end, as if the batteries were running out.
