Another sublime track from a master of classy house music.
For a producer who roots his work in classic sounds, "Outer Limits" is pleasantly relevant. The track shows Williams' unmatched focus, levelling meticulous arrangement and refreshing simplicity into a seven-minute, light-hearted groove. The introductory melody sounds like an elaboration of the bubbling, undulating synths from 2017's "The Place Of Safety," though here it remains vibrant at the foreground. Then there's precise percussion, followed by rich piano chords and a sneaky acid bassline that filters in and out of the first half. Like the best of Boo Williams, this is the kind of tune you want to experience through the finest soundsystem, so you don't miss any details.
