The deep techno maestros look to classic tech house, and craft a bomb.
natural/electronic.system. - Grecale
natural/electronic.system.'s steely, ultra-hypnotic techno usually conjures images of some distant future, all flying cars and glass buildings. But "Grecale," a track from the Italian duo's latest EP, is rooted in the past. Groovy and percussive, it's the most party-friendly track they've released, a bass-heavy monster that recalls the classic era of reduced techno and tech house, where a fat bassline and shuffling drums were all DJs needed to get a dance floor rocking.
Though tech house isn't a term we generally associate with slick techno artists like natural/electronic.system., "Grecale" captures the best of that sound. At 135 BPM, it's a return to the quick tempos of the '00s, but also fast enough to slot in with today's energetic DJs. This is a rare bomb from a duo usually associated with softer textures.
