- The next release on FDS Recordings sees the Head Honcho Chris Fortier unleash two remixes of Yaaah! by D-Shake, both of which have been doing the damage for Chris in his sets of late.
The Fortier Introduces Porter to 1990 Remix#1 is first up and I must say that I do really like the old school feel to this production. The track builds very nicely for the first half with quite a devastating baseline and nice uplifting effects. The breakdown midway in will bring back memories as it builds nicely with stuttering baselines and a cheeky vocal hook and unleashes itself back into proceedings once the beats roar back in. Tasty!
The Fortier Intorduces Porter to 1990 Remix#2 for me is a little too similar to the a-side. It builds upon a similar pattern and follows much of the same shape and formula with minor differences here and there, namely the absence of the baseline for the first half of the track which was a request of some big name DJ's put forward to Chris and Steve. Nevertheless it is just as solid as the a-side, but perhaps disappointingly too similar.
A nice retro style release here on FDS and one definitely worth checking out.
