Anthemic electronica from the big-room duo.
At the heart of the four-minute cut is the type of irresistible trance progression that made Bicep stars in the first place. But the track smartly exercises restraint via a mid-range, syncopated kick, a dreamy synth breakdown and an overall subdued mood. In that sense, it feels like a throwback to the days of '90s big-beat electronica, when the genre threatened to be the soundtrack for, well, everything. Of course, when Matt McBriar and Andy Ferguson retool this one for clubs, "Apricots," with its euphoric, earworm vocal, will undoubtedly be a hands-in-the-air moment.
