Suicide Sports Club - Last Ghost In Town

  • 2nd Opinion Suicide Sports Club (Aka Brancaccio and Aisher) have always been at the forfront of the progressive scene. Since their release "Darker" back in 2000 the lads have put out some outstanding productions and remixes which brought them to the attention of John Digweed who signed one their tracks "Strapped" to Bedrock and has championed them ever since. The story goes that they started work on their debut album 2 years ago but upon nearly finishing it they decided to virtually scrap the whole thing and start near enough from scratch. Much water has gone under the bridge since then but apart from a couple of remixes they have mainly been concentrating on their debut opus and it has become one of the most eagerly awaited albums for quite some time. Well its now 2005 and Last ghost in town is supposedly the first track to be lifted from the said new album and for the single ultra-hot producer Redanka has been drafted in to provide the remix. Redankas Mix starts off with some tough drums before bringing in one of those rocky basslines that he seems to favour so much. The track then drops down into some melancholic piano and then were off as his remix is probably closer to rock music than dance music. The wierd 80's style vocals fit his arangement perfectly and add some harsh guitar stabs to the mix and you get a guaranteed floorfiller, which if you liked Redankas U2 remix you are going to absolutely love! On the flip is Brancaccio & Aishers own mix which has a slightly funkier feel to it. Its a bit deeper than Redankas mix and probably closer to the Bedrock sound but is never the less a quality production which shows that Brancaccio and Aisher are still pushing the envelope when it comes to making great dance music. Overall this is a fantastic first release from the boys and if this is the kind of stuff that will be on the album then i cant wait to hear it!
