MK Ultra Project - Epsilon Eridani / Children

  • Next up on Matthew Dekay’s DK Records comes a release from MK Ultra Project, a new collaboration from the 16 Bit Lolitas. They unleash two new productions here in time for the European summer. First up is Epsilon Eridani, and I must say that I quite like this production. From the word go the track is quite smooth and not too empowering, featuring a very tasty smooth baseline. As the track progresses some really nice melodic swirls come into the track giving it quite a smooth and uplifting progressive feel. It builds very well and thankfully it isn’t quite as formulaic as many other records out there. Children on the flip is slightly edgier thanks to some gritty, but quite subtle riffs that combine quite well with another solid baseline. The melodic patterns in this production don’t work quite as well as they do on the a-side, but nevertheless it is a pretty solid production. For me the a-side is where this release does the damage, and it’s well worth a look for this production.
