- Here on Yoshitoshi records, label favourite Sutlan teams up with fast rising star Tommyboy for an exciting release. Both have very distinct styles and with an extra mix from Muzziak, it will surely make a splash.
The Original Vigado mix starts off with thumping bass drums and infectious low synth stabs while simple percussion assist in the rhythm department. An effected, moody vocal rings out eerily while a great low-end bassline comes into the foreground with more nice stabbing melodies. The mix remains deep and moody throughout as the emotive synths flow nicely over the solid beat but it’s the slow evolution of the stabbing melody that is really the eye catcher here. The breakdown gets a nice dose of the atmospherics while more vocal treatments are added to this very solid mix.
Muzzaik gets busy with his remix and paints a very distinct and diverse mix on this release. Quirky percussion, rasping samples and gritty stabs really add a different flavour to this mix and assist in making it a rather groovy track. Once the main bassline kicks in, the track is really starting to take off and the inclusion of the smooth synths give a brilliant depth which flows straight into a big breakdown that houses a nice piano sample. This is an excellent mix.
The Housematic mix sees Tommyboy lift the pace up with pumping beats and tight, rolling percussion though keeping the mix deep as the original. The original synths stamp its mark here again, while the long climax gives rise to the catchy melodic stabs. Some nice additions in the way of strings and drums make this mix a mainstay for any dance floor.
Also in this release, there is an intro, outro and acapella. The intro and outro feature only the nice floatings synths and strings with different arrangements and sounds while the acapella is the female vocal with heavy effects.
This is a solid release from Yoshitoshi. All mixes really push your buttons and there is never a dull moment, though things do get moody. I was rather impressed with the Muzzaik remix as the unique sound and quirky elements really took off in there own way.
