Ben Camp - Atari House (Album Sampler 1)

  • Silver Planet have been without doubt one of the most in form labels in the last 2 years. You can almost expect quality after quality in their release schedule, and for the labels 70th release, Ben Camp tries to deliver two more solid tracks to the roster in the Atari House Sampler 1. Twister is first up, and it progresses nicely with some deep moody baselines, a host of melodic tingles and some crisp beats and percussion. It’s a solid track with many good aspect and sounds, despite the some time lacking sense of direction. I H8 Make Music In The Morning, unlike the smooth and delicate a-side, is an absolute monster of a track. The drums and force of the percussion is strong, but not nearly as strong as the rather large baseline that roars into action early on in the piece. Some twisted synth patterns give it a twisted techy touch, as do the cheeky acid lines late in the track. It is a very tasty track that adds to the appeal of this release.
