- Love Distortion is the brand new label on the block from Bert &Maarten Wilmaers aka Filterheadz who kick off proceedings with a three track techno mix inspired by their travels to exotic destinations in South America.
Cartanega is a heady dose of jackin' rhythms that control the pressure while pulsating synth stabs breath through the mix as another melody creeps in and injects a edge of funk into the mix.Proceedings strip back as an incessant vocal cut eases through before cranking back up to full strength complete with ride hats,distorting delayed fx and cut up vocal sample to boot.
Santiago has an eerier edge to it with dark bass-line taking a grip of things while scintillating,repetitive synth sound drills into us a groove thats got a funky side as energetic percussion keeps up a steady flow.All stops for the break before building back up again with a heavy distorted sound that's controlled by a constant gurgling concoction underneath.
Last up is Lima which is just as heady as whats come before,pushing further into peak-time with a jangly mix of throbbing, filtered synth-lines on top of contorting percussive rhythms all fitting neatly into place.
Together this is a heck of a package for their first release but be warned, it's not for the faint hearted.
