- Representing with yet another tune from Once Upon A Time, their latest artist album, Dreadzone deliver Elevate keeping true to their dub-infused breakbeat stylings. The 12" is a remix package featuring remixes from Dreadzone's alter-ego Mafiatone and one from heavy-metal breakers Roxiller.
Side A. Mafiatone Remix
Mafiatone's remix is a chilled out and trippy affair, making most use of a smooth breakbeat and a bouncy melodic bassline. This remix sits very close to the original with the addition of a soulful female vocal in the background and an electro hook thrown in on top. Feels like a DJ tool or something used to close out a night.
Side B. Roxiller Remix
On a much harder tip, Roxiller drop a heavy, crunchy breakbeat, a rocking guitar riff, turntable scratches and include the vocals from the original tune. Also appearing from the original tune is the dubby twangy guitar riff and Earl 16's rap which gets beefed up thanks to the guitar riff chugging away in the background. Definitely rocking and my pick of the two.
