- Max Graham seems to be all over Yoshitoshi of late, and this new release should be just that as he delivers ‘Crank’. On remix duty is the duo DJ Simi & Masterkeys.
The original is a dirty slab of huge synths and cranking acid melodies that are used to devastating effect throughout. A very subtle breakdown with light drums brings the mood down low but when the synths and the gritty acid hook are presented without the bass, the effect is huge. This has big room tune written all over it.
Following up is DJ Simi & Masterkeys with a tribal affair that is laden with gorgeous percussion while a dirty, low-end synth stab retains the quality of the original. This mix keeps things a little less hectic with hypnotic melodies and the single squelching acid stab though still a lot of fun.
This is a cranking (pun intended) release from Max and the mix compliments the bundle nicely.
