Next up on Bedrock Records is the latest work from Terry Grant, after already appearing on the label with the pretty impressive ‘I’ll Kill You’. Komputers are the Devil is the latest piece he brings to the table, and the release is armed with two pretty contrasting mixes from Terry.
First up is the Deux Ex Machina Mix, the ‘bigger’ mix of the two in terms of dancefloor appeal. A strong kick drum and some nice atmosphere build the track early on, until a chunky electric bassline drives the track further. The computerised female vocal doesn’t really add any substance, rather it takes away from the nice subtleties in the track such as the smooth atmospheric sounds the ride in the background.
The Hope For The Human Race Mix is a darker and edgier mix, using a tougher punchier bassline that intensifies midway into the track into a series of pulsating rolls. The track takes a nice melodic turn late on, making this a pretty impressive mix, probably the mix with a little more substance.
