Warm 10th Anniversary in London

  • Warm kicked off its tenth anniversary year with a cracker at the new home of their monthly residency, Plastic People. The club night, which began in Bournemouth before firmly establishing itself at the forefront of the capital's deep scene, has built strong relationships with a number of prestigious labels. One such label—Berlin's effortlessly cool Innervisions—was largely responsible for this night's guests. The rich, deep house that greeted the ever-friendly and out-going PP crowd as they filled the intimate venue was Marcus Worgull's unmistakeably Innervisions-tinged sound. With a clear and succinct nod to his jazz and soul influences, Worgull settled down into a set that radiated warmth and provoked interest in equal measure. His intelligent and soulful beats remained entirely danceable, due largely to the underlying and immutable groove, as he tantalisingly flirted on the fringes of house and techno. Label mates Château Flight then took to the decks and immediately installed a party vibe with their unique mash of house, techno, disco and electro. Their infectious energy gripped the crowd who tirelessly bounced along to the Parisian's alert and punchy set. Rare disco records bobbed up next to dub house as the duo kept the dance floor alive with each selection from their varied and esteemed record box. The atmosphere remained wild and untamed for the remainder of the evening as London clubgoers vented their winter recession woes in a frenzied, yet friendly display on the floor. If this party was anything to go by, Plastic People looks to be the perfect place to keep Warm this winter.
