Force Mass Motion vs. Dylan Rhymes - Vanquish

  • Making an appearance on 10 Kilo's Taking Care Of Business, Force Mass Motion are helped out by Dylan Rhymes to create Vanquish which gets into that rave styled breaks sound with the acid-house groovebox melody and the female vocal samples cut in. Think back to the early Prodigy and Chemical Brothers days and you've got this tune. Get the glowsticks, water bottles and lollipops out - easily a ravers tune. The song finishes off a little abruptly, other than that it could be my copy of the vinyl The original is a 33 rpm breaks track with plenty of tech stabs thrown in to accompany the melody. Flip the vinyl over for the Tek mix, which is on that Meat katie styled tribal breaks tip and it sounds quite different to the original - a bit more of an Indian flavour with the female vocals and the melody reflects the acid house/warehouse rave style. Slightly leaning towards progressive, this mix should appeal to progressive house DJ rather than the breaks DJ, but still is a damn fine tune at that. This is one out of the two releases by Force Mass Motion vs Dylan Rhymes, with Hold Back already seeing action on mix CD's done by James Lavelle and by Danny McMillan. Quality and class written all over!
