The 2002 Vox is a brilliant piece of electronica, only using very little from the original but still maintaining the admirable Quivver sound, that together with the sound of 16B are my absolute favorites on the market, today and in recent time. This version is a a mosaic of subtle dub sounds whirling in and out of each other, complementing one another and with John Graham’s own vocal on top, creating the synergy that I believe Quivver is so capable of. The theme play have been given a stealth treatment so that it unlike the original is more subtle.
The Techdub goes for the darker approach that introduces some more dubby echoing and flanged-out vocal-compositions. As well as the 2002 Vox, this version maintains the tight arrangement and bass-dominated sound.
Quivver is in the near future expected to be seen on an already finished collaboration with Blackwatch called Loveless where John Graham once again provides the vocal. A very interesting constellation with two of my favorite producers that I am looking very much forward to hear.
