DJ Dan, Dave Seaman and Escape Project - 2004 Miami WMC Perspectives

Didn't make it to Miami for the 2004 Winter Music Conference? We've lined up some DJs to spill the beans with their Miami experiences to give you a better idea of good (and bizarre) stuff that went down.

DJ DanDJ Dan

The Ultra Festival 2004 for you was...
I had an amazing time. I wished I could have played a longer set though. The house tent was rocking for the short time I did play though. Overall, I would say Ultra rocked this year!

What was your highlight at this year's WMC?
My highlight was playing at the Clevelander Pool party. I knew half the people there and spirits were extremely high. It was like playing to a massive house party with close friends there to cheer you on! The pictures that came back from it were amazing and everyone is still talking about it being one of the best outings they've had in a long time.

The most inform DJ/Live act at the conference was...
I thought Carl Cox at Nikki Beach on Wednesday night was off the hook!
He totally blew me away as usual!

Which WMC party did you enjoy most?
I had a blast at the Subliminal party. I really enjoyed being a part of the crowd and hearing Erick Morillo rock the room! Many of my friends were too loaded to remember the night but I have to say I was totally impressed!

Hottest tune from the Conference?
Outfunk - "Lost In Music" (DJ Flex Remix)

Funniest experience in Miami this year?
Seeing a strange guy running out of my friends room at 7 am.
(GOD BLESS HER)

Who were you most surprised by?
P-Diddy! He was everywhere whether you liked it or not!

You ended your time in Miami by...
rocking out to Carl Cox at Nikki Beach doing shots of Tequila all night. I lost my voice by the end of the night but it did not stop me from going straight through without sleeping and going straight to the airport.

Which WMC party did you enjoy most?
Our Therapy/Renaissance party at Nerve (am I getting a little too
incestuous here?)

Hottest tune from the Conference?
Group Therapy - "My Own Worst Enemy" (my new tune ... Sorry!)

Funniest experience in Miami this year?
Marcus James from Renaissance getting stuck on the roof of Nerve.

Who were you most surprised by?
Marcus James from Renaissance actually being able to get down from the roof

You ended your time in Miami by...
Celebrating Jon Cowans birthday and driving to the airport.

DJ DanEscape Project

What was your highlight at this year's WMC?
Danny Howells @ Bed, Sasha & Digweed’s boat party

Infusion & James Zabiela @ Ultrafest

Which WMC party did you enjoy most?
Danny Howells @ Bed

Hottest tune from the Conference?
Infusion “Girls Can Be Cruel” & Scrambler “Hurricane”

Funniest experience in Miami this year?
Turning up to the club to hear a certain DJ play and realising that he was curled up in the booth beyond all recognition while someone else was filled in until he sobered up.
(he-he-he)

Who were you most surprised by?
James Zabiela, that guy can mix like no one else.

You ended your time in Miami by...
Trying to spend atleast 5 minutes on the beach before heading to play in Los Angeles.
