Greek trio Mohammad will release Som Sakrifis through PAN in March.3 Comments
Comprised of Coti K, ILIOS and Nikos Veliotis, the outfit use cello, contrabass and oscillators to create what a press release describes as "long form work drone works that explore the lower end of the frequency spectrum while retaining an intense emotional capacity." The trio's only previous releases—Roto Vildblomma and Spiriti—both came through Barcelona-based experimental label Antifrost.
Som Sakrifis features three tracks, with B-side cut "Liberig Min" clocking in at 17 minutes. It will be the second release of the year for PAN, following Jar Moff's recent Commercial Mouth LP. The Bill Kouligas-helmed label enjoyed a breakthrough 12 months in 2012 courtesy of two well-received albums apiece from Lee Gamble and NHK'Koyxen, as well as material from Heatsick and Sensate Focus among others.

Greek producer Cayetano will release a new LP called Once Sometime later this month.Post a comment
Over the past six years or so, Cayetano (real name Giorgios Bratanis) has created a lush, jazzy form of trip-hop and downtempo, often with the help of friends on instrumental and vocal duties. Once Sometime, which according to the press release features "his dream team" of collaborators, continues in the soulful style of Cayetano's previous work. The new album, his fifth overall, also keeps up his trend of working only in full-length format—he hasn't produced any singles or EPs to date. It comes almost two years after his last LP, Back Home. While that one was issued on Klik Records, Once Sometime will be the first release on the new Klik sublabel Pale Sound Records.

This year's Reworks Festival will take place from September 21st through the 23rd in Thessaloniki, Greece.
For the eight years it's been running, Reworks has been one of Greece's finest electronic music festivals, with programs that run the gamut from club-oriented house and techno to more experimental fare. Naturally, the country's economic climate has made things increasingly difficult for the music scene in Thessaloniki, and not least for Reworks, but the organizers have still managed to put together their biggest event yet, with an extra day featuring workshops, lectures and free events on an outdoor street stage.
Topping this year's bill is the widely-loved Nicolas Jaar, playing live as always. Chromatics will perform live too, along with Desire, a related outfit on Italians Do It Better. Clubbier sounds will come from Maceo Plex, Tale Of Us, Pan-Pot and Daniel Bortz. Francesco Tristano brings a touch of classical to the bill. Berghain resident Marcel Dettmann has been confirmed as well.
The Saturday portion of this year's event will happen on five stages at the Mylos Complex. On Sunday, Reworks team up with Resident Advisor on the rooftop of the MET Hotel with Soul Clap, Benoit & Sergio and more. Venue details for Friday have yet to be revealed.
Reached at his office in Thessaloniki this week, we spoke with organizer Anastasios Diolatzis about Reworks, the challenges it's facing and how it's dealing with them:
I've never been to Reworks. Tell me a bit about the festival—what's atmosphere like?

Lemos has teamed up with fellow Greek producers Ilan Manouach and Yannis Lookos for a new project called Glacial, with the first album in the pipeline for later this month.Post a comment
George Laimos has been one of Athens' main underground club exports for years, having put out records on labels like Cécille Numbers and Air London. Manouach and Lookos have kept lower profiles so far: the former plays in a few different groups and on his own, with specialties ranging from saxophone to field recording, and the latter has yet to release any music. On Costes presents Glacial, their first release, the trio make understated, jazz-influenced microhouse with an experimental edge. The album will come out on Welcome to Masomenos, the label run by the Parisian duo Masomenos.

Grounded Theory and Hospital will link up for a party at Athens venue 6 D.O.G.S. on Saturday 22nd October.4 Comments
Grounded Theory has emerged as one Berlin's foremost techno nights since starting out back in September 2009. The party has primarily run out of the city's Arena venue, a medium sized, multi-room space at the southern tip of Berlin's so-called "club mile." The focus in that time has unwaveringly been on techno in its purest form; past guests have included Convextion, Ben Klock, Terrence Fixmer, Marcel Dettmann and Perc.
For their first venture outside of the German capital, Grounded Theory have linked up with Athenian techno purveyors Hospital. The party at 6 D.O.G.S. on October the 22nd will feature a debut Greek performance from Function and Regis, AKA Sandwell District, who will weave between live performance and DJing for three hours. Berlin mainstay Milton Bradley and Greek producer Sawf also play live, while DJing duties will be looked after by Grounded Theory's Henning Baer and locals Sen.na & Slydex.

Cavo Paradiso have completed this year's summer schedule, with more than 40 parties confirmed between now and September 1st.
Perched by a cliff on the Greek island of Mykonos, Cavo Paradiso is one of the Mediterranean's main hubs for house and techno. This year the venue's had a bit of a facelift, now equipped with a new DJ booth, new lighting installations and most importantly a new roof deck. The music, meanwhile, keeps up the same standard as years past, with international guests dropping in a few nights each week. The program overall is fairly diverse, with huge names like Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk as well as underground stars like Seth Troxler and Ricardo Villalobos.
Minus leaves its mark with three different parties—two with Richie Hawtin, one with Marco Carola and Loco Dice. Sven Vath drops in twice this summer, and Circo Loco touches down with Matthias Tanzmann and Davide Squillace, the man behind Cavo Paradiso's latest mix CD. Classic house fans have something to look forward to as well, with Dennis Ferrer on August 16th and Frankie Knuckles on September 1st.

Niels Luinenburg, AKA Delta Funktionen, will headline Hospital at 6 D.O.G.S. this coming Saturday 19th March.2 Comments
The Dutch producer has only been releasing records since 2008, but has already garnered a glowing reputation. Like many of his compatriots, Luinenburg's techno sound is heavily indebted to Detroit, but with enough of its own character to avoid simple pastiche. His music has mainly surfaced on Delsin sub-label Ann Aimee, who have put out five of his 12-inches to date. Although perhaps not indicative of what those at 6 D.O.G.S. on Saturday should expect from him, if you haven't done so already we strongly advise you to check out >this recording of Luinenburg warming up for Jeff Mills in Doornroosje Nijmegen last year.
He'll be joined at Hospital by a whole heap of local selectors, which includes AlxP, Slydex, Zorz, Jose Amba and Steve. It's also worth noting that entrance to the venue is free.
