As we announced previously, Ada is set to release a mix of her own material later this year.

Originally planned for release this month, the collection of her tracks and remixes will now see the light of day in June. As well as including her versions of original tracks by Tracey Thorn, Booka Shade, Andi Teichmann and Brant, the CD will also feature remixes of her work from Kompakt mainstays DJ Koze, Tobias Thomas and Michael Mayer. It isn't all previously released material, however: Ada's studio-mate Dee Pulse has contributed a remix of "Fizzmann," whilst International Pony member Cosmic DJ helps out on a new version of "Blindhouse," which features the lyrics to their 2005 hit "Our House."

Tracklist
01. Tracey Thorn – Grand Canyon (Ada remix)
02. Ada - Fizzmann (Dee Pulse Remix)
03. Booka Shade – Vertigo vs. Cha (Ada Remix)
04. Brant feat. Mr. Roper – Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me (Ada Remix)
05. Ada – Maps (Thomas/Mayer Remix)
06. Alex Smoke – Never Want To See You Again (Ada Remix)
07. Ada – Eve (DJ Koze Mix)
08. Ada feat. Raz Ohara – Lovestoned
09. Andi Teichmann – Tape (Ada Mix)
10. Ada – Living It Up
11. Ada – Forty Winks
12. Ada feat. Cosmic DJ – Our Blindhouse (Each And Every One)

Kompakt will release Ada's Adaptations: Mixtape #1 on June 8th, 2009.comment 24 Comments

Tue, 16 Jun 2009Ok, understand what you mean now TheButcher.

It is a risky move to release a mix of your own personal material. It is hard enough to release an album of electronic music! let alone mixing it. I don't see anything wrong with the concept, I just think it is a difficult thing to do.

I would enjoy Omar-S material on his Fabric a lot more if it wasn't mixed. People should buy a mixed CD for the purpose of listening to the skill of effortlessly amalgamating tunes into one to create a story,... More

Please understand that I was not comparing the mix quality and/or style of Omar-S with Ada.

My purpose of my comment was to highlight the fact that another DJ and/or producer compiling a 'mix' with their own personal material should not be negatively looked upon by those people who enjoy electronic music.

Fri, 12 Jun 2009Attention TheButcher. You can't compare Omar-S Fabric to this Mixtape. Ada has pulled off a killer mix. Not knocking Omar-S but he came up short big time with his Fabric release.
